God needs you!

When recently studying Elder Holland’s talk about ministering, I realized while reading this quote:

May we give the God and Father of us all a helping hand with His staggering task of answering prayers, providing comfort, drying tears, and strengthening feeble knees. If we will do that, we will be more like the true disciples of Christ we are meant to be. -Jeffrey R. Holland

...he is saying, essentially, that Heavenly Father NEEDS US to help HIM!

'That can’t be right,’ I thought. ‘Surely Heavenly Father doesn’t need ME?!’

And the moment I thought that, I was taught and reminded that... yes! He truly needs ME. And He truly needs YOU! Only you have the characteristics, experience, circles of influence, and ways of being that can lift and help His children who He loves profoundly!!! And so He needs you to go out there and be you! He needs you to help bring others to Christ! And He knows that as you do that, YOU yourself will become more like Christ and come unto Him as well, and that will lead you home! THAT IS WHAT HE WANTS AND NEEDS!!!

So don’t you dare for one second today or tomorrow or EVER forget that YOU are needed! You are LOVED so profoundly by the creator of the sky! Look up now and then and take it in! Let the sun illuminate your mind to the truth and reality of these things. Let The Son illuminate your heart and your path as He reaches to lift you and beckons softly, “Come. Follow me. We need you.”
