Calm after the storm

This gets me every time I read it.

And it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord and after I had prayed the winds did cease. And the storm did cease. And there was a great calm. -1 Nephi 18:21

Nephi's example of faith and forgiveness is one I lean on time and time again. Keep in mind, the calm came to Nephi and those on his boat after he was bound with cords by his brothers for 3 days, but he focused spiritually and trusted that God's promises were sure.. that the compass would stop working and the storms would rage until his brothers repented and loosed him. What storms are raging in your life? What can you do to keep your focus on the Lord and trust in His promises? Seek the power of God to bring peace and calm to your heart. Have patience and trust Him to deliver you.
